Ok, here we go...this weekend's specials have lots of

Elegance & Bubbles!

NV Monsigneur Imperial

Brut Cava de Penedes, Spain

mon imp cava

*ALL GONE!!!*

cavas are made in the classic méthode champenoise tradition. It's a difficult and lengthy process, but well worth the effort. In fact, just recently The Wall Street Journal named Cavas  "The Best of Tasting" and a "Best Value"

2008 Chateau Haut Biot, Gran Vin De Bordeaux

Wood Cases

mon imp cava

Graceful and easy-to-understand, this wine is an appealing harmony . While well-structured and endowed with significant aging potential, Bordeaux,  is arguably the most famous wine region in the world.

*Remember, these prices are ONLY valid from Dec 8th thru Dec 10th, 2011...take advantage!!!*

Oh, I almost forgot about this one:

JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS...

 2009 Chateau Fonfroide is here!!

93 Points at Best times Guide!!

Chateau Fonfroide

(Elier likes it!)

THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE AND IN FULL FORCE...AND THESE BABIES SHOULD HELP KEEP THE FESTIVITIES GOING!

This particular wine, the Chateau Fonfroide, is a blend of 42% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Franc and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is well-structured with firm tannins, which means that it is a wine that you don't have to drink immediately - this is a wine that can benefit from a few years in the cellar. That being said, this is still a wine that you can enjoy now

2005 Museum Crianza

Museum's 2005 Crianza is 100% Tempranillo aged 12 months in French and American oak. Purple in color, it offers up a fruity nose featuring mineral, spice box, and blackcurrant. Full-flavored on the palate with layered fruit and some ripe tannin.

As always, nothing but the best for you!

SO MANY GOOD THINGS!!!

We're very happy to say we've had lots of good things come in the last few weeks...talking with you about what's been good and why has been fun too! And that's the idea...good things with good friends!

Top favorites include (clockwise from left to right):

1. Arbol de Vida Chardonnay 2010

Yellow color, slightly golden.  Intense nose of lemon and pineapple, with notes of mineral and vanilla.  Smooth and creamy; a buttery finish of exotic fruit...and heavenly good!

2. Argyle's "Nuthouse" Reserve Pinot Noir 2009

For those of you familiar with the Nuthouse style, you’ll know that on release these wines don’t always leap out of the glass, they need time in the bottle to open up aromatically. Not the case with the 2009 Nuthouse Pinot Noir! This wine is alive with aromas of darkest cherry, cloves and cinnamon. It is no different on the palate—almost explosive in its expression of sweet juicy fruit...raspberry cordial...and black cherry cobbler surrounded gently by subtle oak tannins.

This wine finishes like a dog that doesn't know when to go home...keep him for yourself and put a smile on your face.

3. Perez Cruz's "Liguai" 2007

The grapes were hand picked on the last week of April, looking for the right tannin and flavour ripeness. Small-lot of grapes was made to reveal unique characteristics of every parcel. The grapes were selected and cleaned on specially tables at the Mezzanine floor, on the tanks, with gravity flow. The grapes were carefully crushed and they continued a cold soak maceration during four days at 10º C. Hand pumping-over was done to make soft tannins extraction during fermentation and total period of maceration was of 30 days. Malolactic fermentation undergoes in French new one uses oak barrels.

The complex, elegant aromas await discovery: black berries, pepper, cedar wood and chocolate, mingled with light toasted note from the French oak.  Its is a concentrated wine with a solid tannic structure and a long, persistent finish.

Total barrel aging: 16months.

4. L'Escargot Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sourced from fruit grown principally on the Domaine de L’Herre this has vitality, freshness, energy and class.

It’s a perfect Seafood wine that will be frightening plenty of Sancerre’s and Pouilly Fume’s on it’s travels.

5. Fairhope North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

2007 is a classic year yielding wines with excellent balance, fine structure and concentration having great aromatic and flavor complexity.
A deep, vibrant color leads to aromas of red and black berries, fruit blossoms, olive, lead pencil and spice. The palate is of ripe, crystalline red and black fruits with a broad, silky texture framed by balanced acidity and excellent length. It will reward cellaring in the near term and offer immediate enjoyment.

6. Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2009

94 points - Wine Spectator

"This is crammed with fruit, spice and structure, as braised fig, plum skin, cassis and anise notes wrestle with roasted apple wood, melted red licorice and tar for now. The embedded grip should carry the finish until this assimilates fully. Best from 2014 through 2024. 5,000 cases imported." - WS

7. L'Oustal Blanc Cuvee "K10"

The bomb...a rich, full bodied red, full of ripe fruit flavours.  Inky-lush-purple stain the moment it spreads itself upon pouring.  Intense aromas of red and black berries with some spice and tar notes.  The tannins are ripe and full but well balanced.  Organic and Biodynamic principles.

All in all, a total bad-ass.

8. Cuvaison Napa Valley Chardonnay 2009

Kiwi, clove spice, nectarine and lime zest with a hint of toasty oak. Lush, mouth filling flavors of peach, apricot and papaya backed by vanilla and allspice. A super supple wine with a creamy, silky texture and vibrant, fresh fruit. Nicely balanced with a clean, satisfying finish.

9. Freestone Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2007

WINEMAKER NOTES: The 2007 growing season was long and dry, yielding small berries with tremendous flavor and concentration. This wine has more depth and power than the 2006 Freestone Pinot Noir, along with the typical structure and elegance of the Sonoma Coast terroir. The wine exudes layers of sandalwood, anise, cassis and dried tea leaves. Its density lingers on the palate and offers flavors of plum, bing cherries, black tea and tobacco, while the finish provides the spicy and earthy characteristics that are typical of Freestone wines.

10. Sol Fa Sol Torrontes 2010

First of all, this stuff is awesome....drinks like a dream.  The color is pale golden with hints of green. Fine, delicate aromas of fruit. A delicate unctuous mouth feel and elegant structure along with a well balanced and pleasant finish make this an easy to drink wine. It is light, floral and fruity, ideal as an aperitif and for pairing with white meats.
This is the sunny Thursday morning on a weeklong drunk.
Splendid!!!

OH!  And I almost forgot...

All Hallow's Eve

is upon us...

Ain't Autumn grand?

The weather is PERFECT for just about anything you want to do:

...Working on that herb garden you've been meaning to perfect...
...grilling in the back yard with everybody cool you know...
...biking the neighborhood with your kids...
...holding hands with your girl & taking a walk...
or

just sitting back with friends and family, pop open something good, and laughing healthy,
deeply, & in a profoundly healing way.

A DRINKING SONG

Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh.
- W.B. Yeats

Autum, Oktoberfest, & other good things!

Fall is officially here, and it brings with it a cool vigor I personally wait for all year round. October means Halloween...

peanuts halloween

Oktoberfest (thank you to the Germans)...

oktoberfest

and cooler Miami weather...even if it means the 70 to 80 degrees instead of the 90's.

SO...to celebrate all this, we've chosen what is essentially a last "HOORAH!" to the seemingly never-ending Miami summer (even if it is only for a little while)...

83 St. Tropez

Cotes de Provence

83 st tropez

Côtes de Provence is a wide area covering Côte d'Azur (French riviera) from Marseille to Nice cities. Soils, grapes and techniques may differ but one thing remains: the sun.

Half of the rosé wines made in France are coming from Provence! And 80% of the wine made in Provence is rosé. Rosé de Provence are dry and fruity, and this small producer is no exception. Elegant but cheerful, this wine is a perfect weather wine, for aperitif, with a salad or typical mediterranean meal, or for just plain ol' fun!

Only $9 per bot

(special pricing is only available this Thursday Oct. 6th thru Saturday the 8th)

ALSO THIS WEEK...

Another GREAT Malbec from the folks at

henry lagarde

The Single Vineyard 2008 Malbec

Inky intense red color with bordeaux nuances. Significant flavors of ripe red fruits and marmalade, combined with a soft aroma of vanilla, chocolate and some smoke. Elegant mouth with silky tannins, this is a well made example of an Argentinean Malbec.

...and the best part, it's

Only $13.00 bot.

(special pricing is only available this Thursday Oct. 6th thru Saturday the 8th)

Take advantage...only today, friday and saturday!!!

And ONE LAST WINE, just because...Aletta Garnacha from Spain is available at QUE BUENO...

aletta garnacha

...and it's only FIVE BUCKS!!!

Yes, that's $5

(pricing is only available this Thursday Oct. 6th thru Saturday the 8th)

End of story.

Salute!
